We have a "We ...320, that is not true we care. We have a "We are all Purple Movement" going that is going to change Whitewater and the world, and we did march to Hyer Hall to protest a name calling incident against a gay students and notes left on a black students souped up car. Between our classes, we are marching for justice.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832236349540926420.post-900368421204432742011-10-08T17:28:46.286-05:002011-10-08T17:28:46.286-05:00Come on students, stop being so stupid. He calls all students beer sucking idiots, and you are no better in characterizing the protestors as lazy. Protests from the sit in movements in the South to the massive student movements during the Vietnam War era helped change America. What about the massive 1963 March on Wasington by King and SCLC? Stop listening to Willis and start thinking. Unlike Willis, I have faith in you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832236349540926420.post-24152290542155619532011-10-08T17:20:43.143-05:002011-10-08T17:20:43.143-05:00So harsh about political protests! Somehow these criticisms say more about Whitewater, the bastion of political complacency, than they do about the protesters, many of whom are genuinely concerned about the growing gulf between rich and poor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832236349540926420.post-82467832708168886002011-10-08T16:10:51.872-05:002011-10-08T16:10:51.872-05:00WILLIS, I agree with you. Some of these beer sucking students complain about core courses, dorm food, profs, so I agree 100 percent with you. Like you, I have no sympathy for these beer suckers. They like the protestors you correctly take to task in your post need to stop crying and take responsibility for their own education. You nailed it good Willis. Like the protestors students should just suck it up and work harder in their classes. Life is what it is. I love your post Willis. Keep it real.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832236349540926420.post-7449931431541356322011-10-08T15:40:12.451-05:002011-10-08T15:40:12.451-05:00All the people protesting wall street have never m...All the people protesting wall street have never made a real decision on their own in their whole life. They've always kinda done what your kinda suposed to do. They went through school being told what to do and what to think. "Go to college so you can't get a good job." But, they don't know what they really want so someone told they some random major that would get them a good job. When they finished college they applied for a few jobs but didn't get it because the economy is down and they really don't want the job just the rewards. They think how can this be I've done everything I've been told to so how come I'm not rich. Then someone comes along and says "it's not you fault it's all those really successful people. You need to go take whats your right." This is way easier than looking at yourself in the mirror and asking what do I want and how do I get it? The occupy wall street protesters are mindless drones. You may not like a lot of things about the county, but protesting I'm not even really sure what isn't going to give you a job. Or more importantly purpose. That's what the protesters are really after purpose of some kind. Their just unable to find their own purpose so they wait for someone to give it to them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8832236349540926420.post-70582455603154278332011-10-08T15:18:36.105-05:002011-10-08T15:18:36.105-05:00As with any revolution, nothing will happen unless...As with any revolution, nothing will happen unless feelings are voiced. It's the first step (whether or not any steps after vocalization actually occurs is beside the point). That's what occurring right now, people are gathering in a way that attracts attention, by using the media. Demonstrations have been using this tactic for a very long time.<br />You seem misinformed, or at least under-informed (I say this because you began your post by asking flat out what they hope to accomplish). In situations, particularly political ones such as this, to be truly critical, one must examine as many perspectives as possible; to hear only one side does not do the situation justice. Hear what the protesters themselves have to say, and please try and do so with an open mind. Try google searches for "we are the 99%"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
